Have you seen MESS yet, AnotherGuest? It's from the creators of MAME and is also opensource. It's aim is to support as many platforms as possible. As for now, not many games are working, even if a platform is supported, but the project is alive and everything can change. Have a look at it at www.mess.org if you want :)
lets support wonderswan color and neo geo emulator, hope you can also make this for low ram phones like n73 and such. endless thanks for a great developer like you. your name is already a legend and history itself.
I'm wondering how it's possible to port Scummvm 1.60 because I look at official scummvm site and the last version seems 1.5.0 !!!! Could you explain this strange thing ?
This is the 1.6.0git version, this means that it is work in progress, where they test the latest engines etc. This build supports ALL latest engines (but anyone requiring more than 640x480 does not work).
I have started porting FBA Gp2X, supporting NeoGeo, CPS1 & CPS2 games and more. Currently it is running at least CPS1 games, I need to add controls and sound for this.
have you seen this project? http://www.summeli.fi/?p=2087 the emulation is perfect but it hasn't sound and battery save.. the developer abandoned the project but there is the source code.. why don't you complete it please? sorry for bad english and thanks for all your work!
Can I please beg for a decent Gameboy (/Color) emulator? The paid Vampent vBoy SUCKS hard (and it automatically reboots my N95 8GB). Please--from a chiptune lover to another? ^_^ You rock, AnotherGuest! You save us S60 users from the evil clutches of iOS and Android! (LOL) By the way, Vampent was able to make an SNES emulator, but just like their other products, it's the one that sucks the most. However, do you think it's still possible?
Speaking of chiptune, did you ever thought of chiptune players? Like C64 SID, Atari POKEY, Amiga MOD (already done--see 'Scenetone'), and don't forget SNES SPC! The SNES's sound chip is just like two Amiga Paulas, plus echo effect, so I think it could be easy for the phone's CPU.
Kyle, for chiptunes you could use LCG Jukebox - it plays .MOD and some other files. For Snes emulation you can use Snes4Sym by Andre (aletitbe.blogspot.com). For GBC emulation yo could check out gnuboy (http://www.summeli.fi/?tag=gnuboy) but i believe it's s60v5 only.
Johny46: I tried LCG Jukebox, and it has lower playback quality than Scenetone. So try Scenetone (but NOT Scenetone RES). It is available at web.archive.org because the original website is down. I'll try Snes4Sym (isn't it for S60v5 only? I have an N95 8GB, S60v3.1) I think GnuBoy is S60v5 only, but I'll check. Thanks for the suggestions!
Snes4Sym works good on my E63, so it isn't s60v5 only :) I tried Scenetone long time ago (I love chiptunes too :P) but it didn't even start. Launching it just didn't do anything. I don't know what dependencies I am missing, because I can run Python and Qt apps.
Johny46: Thanks so much for Snes4Sym! While still not as smooth as PicoDrive, it is deinitely the best! I get a decent 20fps with sound. Scenetone is 100% working (except for SID playback: no noise sound) Here's the official S60v5 release
Kyle, what about Goomba? I didn't read much about it, but from what I've seen, it's able to convert GameBoy roms to GameBoyAdvance roms. Check it out: http://www.ifans.com/forums/threads/how-to-convert-gb-to-gba-tutorial.20587/ Vbagx is pretty good gba emulator, so maybe it could run them?
i dont think snes4sym will run on N73, on my X5-01 and E63 run well. But run good on my X5-01... :P maybe run more good on N95... I dont know... ''v(-o-)v''
